Under construction

The Fort has still a lot more to offer. There's just so many construction sites in the area. I would have shot a lot more pictures if not becuase of the stupid securty guards. Haay. Maybe next time when I do it legally.

Facing the east

It's just beautiful how the morning sun reflect from the window glasses of these buildings.

Foursome

These are just some of the residential condominiums in The Fort

The Fort Sillhouette

I woke up at around 5am to bring my father to the airport . One the way back I decided to take the route through The Fort. When I saw a good scene I stopped my car and started shooting. Then a security guard approached me and asked if I have a permit to shoot Turns out that I have to ask permission from their arts department before I can take photographs within The Fort's vicininity. So I stopped shooting and went back to my car and started driving. Just when I drove around 100 meters another security guard riding a motorcycle was waving at me to pull over which I did. He asked to to erase every photo that I took. Well, the genius in me took the driver's seat. I showed him my camera, pressed the erase botton which prompts the delete dialogue box. After ensuring that he saw the delete dialogue box I hastingly pressed the cancel botton and immediately transfered to the next photo. I repeated the sequence until I got to the pictures I took in Tagaytay. Thank God I didn't start shooting in an emptry SD card.

The dwarf's house?

This is still in Sonya's garden. They use these stained glass little houses to lit the pathways in the whole garden.

Dining HDR

Sonya's Garden dining area in high resolution HDR.

Fountain HDR

This is an HDR image of the fountain in Sonya's Garden in Tagaytay.

High Dynamic Range (HDR)

This is an HDR image of the interior of the place where we crashed in Tagatay Highlands. I combined 11 photos shot at different exposures to make the HDR image then tone mapped it to create this beautiful image.

More Tagaytay Highlands

Temperature

The reading says it's 23 deg Celsius. It's a little bit cooler in Tagaytay. I love it there. It's not too cold and definitly not too hot. Just perfect.

What time is it?

Portrait

This is a portrait shot of my cousin. He's sitting on the same rock where he stood in the previous post.

No, he's not jumping

This is my cousin attemting to emmulate the UP Oblation. He won't strip down though. Haha

The Silhouette Remedy

This is still the original shot from the last post but this time a tweaked it using Adobe Photoshop Lightroom to have that silhouette effect. Got you there!

Attempted silhouette shot

This is an attempted silhouette shot of the place where we stayed in Tagaytay Highlands. It didn't turn out to be what I originally intended. Therefore, I just tweaked the shot to become a regularly exposed photo. Haha

Tagaytay Highlands

Our family spent the early days of the Holy week in Tagaytay highlands. I just want to share some pictures.

Ouch! Heels hurts

The bride's feet is hurting so she decided to switch to slippers insted of heels.

Leap of faith

I believe that being married is a leap of faith. I mean we're talking about brand new challenges and responsibilties. But it's a different part of our lives that can bring different joys. God bless their journey!

The Bride

The bride walking down the isle to his soon to be husband waiting at the pulpit.

The Wedding Photographer

This is tito Bong. He's the official photographer of this wedding. This is the first wedding that I'll cover or rather the first event that I'll cover. I'm one of his assistants. Look out for more of the wedding shots.

Panning

Who said accidents can't be pretty. I admit that this picture is chamba. But still I was trying a pan shot.

To Infinity

Again another picture taken from Mall of Asia.

Lonely Hydrant

Will it still work?

Manila Traffic

Aurora Blvd. on a busy Saturday afternoon.

What should I ride in heavy traffic?

Hey who's being practical now? Again the Filipino life. If I have enough pictures I'll make a separate blog for it or even a printed album. We'll see.

The man

He is an almost taong grasa walking around the shell gas station in Marcos Highway. I managed to take a picture of him while he's busy eating that someting in hand. Thank God he didn't see me. God knows what he can do if he did.

Through the window

Origami

I didn't know how it got there. I didn't make it. But it was waiting to be photographed.

Bay sunset

Manila bay sunset. A timeless scene. This picture was taken from the viewing area of the Mall of Asia.

Girl with an attitude

She's the most beautiful girl ever! Sipsip!

I'm shot... no, it's just water

This is not a product of war news seen everyday on TV. Boys just naturally develop a fascination with guns. I don't know why.

The dog next door

This is the best setting I can make of it ok. I can't just tell the dog to transfer to a greener background/foreground. Haha.

Cafe

I don't mean to plug in my blog but Cafe Briton is just the best. Great food and ambiance. It's a step away from the busy atmosphere of Tomas Morato.

The Clap

In here, she's also clapping. Cute!

The Smile

Ayan, the long awaited smile. When I got my camera, I immediately requested that she stayed with us for the weekend so that I can take pictures of her. Haha

Dangling Baby

Well she's not really hanging by herself. She's being supported by her ate. I just love how her position diagonally fills the frame.

She won't smile

This is one of my very first takes of my niece with my Nikon D80. She just won't smile. But hey, she willingly looks at the camera.

Freedom

UP Diliman really depicts freedom of speech. This a shot of the east wall of the UP Film Center.

Turon, Banana-Q and Karyoka for everyone

She is the savior of people walking around UP with rumbling stomachs. Street foods are certainly the best. Well mostly for us Filipinos. Karyoka (I don't know the spelling, sorry) is the best!

Siesta

Some of us sleep on large soft beds in cozy airconditioned rooms but most of us don't have that kind of luxury including this carpenter. I plan to engage myself on a lifelong project where I can share through photography the very core of the Filipino life. This picture will surely be included.

The Olympics

Sometimes, I drive around with my camera beside me ready to shoot. I usually look outside to find something interesting. After taking a couple of shots and just about to place my camera on the front passenger seat, I noticed the chaos of stuff sitting beside me and how it translates to an interesting array of different colors. I placed the water jug at the side just to close the frame. By the way, it's 2008 and I can almost smell the spirit of the Olympics.

Playing kid

As I was walking around UP Diliman, I saw this kid playing just with himself. So I quickly switched to my 70-300 zoom lens and mounted my camera on a tripod and started shooting. Since I was far enough for him not to notice me, I made some pretty candid shots. I have a dozen more shots of him but I particularly chose this picture for the reason that we won't see his face. I just want to be on the safe side.

Nikon is the best

After watching an episode of Tips from the Top Floor where Chris (the host) talked about product photography, I did a little something for myself. In the video he used an improvised set to photograph three vodka bottles. In my version I used a black cartolina as background and white paper as reflectors. For the light source, I used the ever reliable desktop lamp. Oh, this is a photograph of the lens cap of my Nikkor AF 70-300mm G lens.

Half tall

Nothing to say about this. Haha. Just a beautiful portrait of our friends.

Painting

This is a painting that my brother created many years ago. It's been left in one corner of our house ever since. So just to give it a little more credit, I took a picture of it and post it here for everyone to see.

Flagged Down

It's a gloomy day and there aren't any flags on the tip of these flag poles to add some life. But hey it's still worth a shot. I like it.

What's the commotion?

What's the odd man out got to do? Take Pictures of course. My brother had to go to UP to shoot a school project and since it's a holiday I decided to come along and shoot. This is just one of the few shots that I took in UP that day.
